Everything beneath the surface of GLOW — how 2C-B works, why precision matters more here, the full dosing detail and calculator, the primary research, stacking and the safety that matters. The honest, in-depth version.

THE PHARMACOLOGY
A gentler molecule,
a steeper curve.

2C-B is a synthetic phenethylamine first made by Alexander Shulgin in 1974 and documented in PiHKAL. It sits between a classic psychedelic and an empathogen — warm, sensory, and notably dose-sensitive.

Uptake

Held sublingually or taken orally, 2C-B absorbs and crosses the blood–brain barrier. Onset is typically faster and the whole arc shorter than LSD.

5-HT2A & 5-HT2C agonism

Like the classic psychedelics, 2C-B activates serotonin 5-HT2A receptors. Its 5-HT2C activity and mild catecholamine effects shape the warmer, more body-centred, empathogenic feel.

The hybrid character

The result reads as part psychedelic, part empathogen: sensory enhancement and light visual texture alongside emotional openness and physical warmth.

A dose-sensitive compound

2C-B's defining trait is its steep dose-response. Between roughly 10–22mg, every couple of milligrams meaningfully changes the experience — which is exactly why a calibrated liquid matters.

Sub-perceptual at the low end

At 2–4mg the aim is a faint lift in warmth, presence and sensory richness — not a trip. As with any microdose: if it's obvious, it's too much.

WHY PRECISION MATTERS MORE

Because the curve is so steep, eyeballing 2C-B is genuinely risky — a "little extra" is a different experience. A fixed 1mg-per-drop liquid is the most controllable way to stay in a chosen range.

WHAT THE EVIDENCE SAYS

2C-B is far less studied than LSD or psilocybin. Most of what's known comes from Shulgin's self-experiments and harm-reduction reports rather than clinical trials. Microdose data specifically is essentially anecdotal — proceed thoughtfully.

How people use it.

SITUATIONAL

Because GLOW is warm and social, many reserve a microdose for specific creative or connective occasions rather than a rigid daily schedule.

FADIMAN-STYLE

If you prefer a routine, the 1-on / 2-off rhythm works here too. Tolerance to 2C-B builds quickly, so off-days are not optional.

CYCLE & REST

Keep frequency low — a few times a week at most — and take regular breaks. Frequent dosing dulls the effect fast and isn't worth it.

SELECTED RESEARCH
Read the primary sources.

2C-B is far less studied than LSD or psilocybin — much of the literature is observational or foundational. Here is the most relevant peer-reviewed and primary work.

Controlled human research on 2C-B specifically remains limited. A curated reading list, not a systematic review — verify all sources before clinical or commercial use.

STACKING
Supportive, not stimulating.

GLOW already leans warm and serotonergic, so the goal of stacking here is comfort and recovery rather than amplification. Keep additions gentle and non-serotonergic.

COMFORT

Magnesium eases the mild jaw tension and muscle tightness empathogen-leaning compounds can bring. The most worthwhile single addition for GLOW.

ANTIOXIDANT SUPPORT

Vitamin C and a steady omega-3 intake are commonly used around serotonergic sessions as general recovery support. Modest, sensible, low-risk.

SMOOTHING

L-theanine softens any edge of stimulation into calm presence. Avoid stacking other serotonergic supplements (e.g. 5-HTP, St John's Wort) — see safety.

Suggested supportive supplements.

General wellness doses. Introduce one at a time and check interactions with anything you already take.

MAGNESIUM

200–400mg

Glycinate for muscle and jaw comfort. The most relevant single supplement for GLOW.

VITAMIN C

500–1000mg

Antioxidant support commonly taken around serotonergic sessions.

OMEGA-3 (DHA/EPA)

1–2g / day

Steady neuronal-membrane support; a sensible daily baseline.

B-COMPLEX

1 / day with food

Supports neurotransmitter synthesis and energy metabolism.

L-THEANINE

100–200mg

Calms over-stimulation into gentle, present focus. Non-serotonergic.

LION'S MANE

500–1000mg / day

Nerve-growth-factor support for the longer-term plasticity picture.

ELECTROLYTES

Helps with the warmth and gentle sweating; supports steady hydration.

VITAMIN D3

Broad mood and immune support; an easy daily baseline.

SAFETY & INTERACTIONS
Read this first.

2C-B carries mild stimulant properties and a steep dose curve, so a few points matter more here. This is harm-reduction information, not medical advice.

KNOWN INTERACTIONS

MAOIs
Avoid. Combining 2C-B with MAO inhibitors can dangerously amplify effects and raise the risk of a serotonergic crisis.
SSRIs / SNRIs / 5-HTP
Add to overall serotonergic load. Don't stack other serotonergic agents, and don't stop prescribed medication on your own — talk to your prescriber.
LITHIUM
Avoid entirely. Psychedelics combined with lithium are linked to seizures and serious adverse events.
STIMULANTS / CARDIAC
2C-B mildly raises heart rate and blood pressure. Use caution with heart conditions, high blood pressure, or stimulants, and avoid stacking with other stimulants.
THE STEEP CURVE
Never eyeball a dose and never redose within a session to "feel more" — 2C-B comes up fast and small differences are large.
MENTAL HEALTH
A personal or family history of psychosis, schizophrenia or bipolar disorder is a reason to avoid.
PREGNANCY
Avoid during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Safety has not been established.
GENERAL
Don't drive or operate machinery if you feel any effect. Stay hydrated, start at the lowest dose, and consult a qualified healthcare provider — especially if you take any daily medication.
